DESCRIPTION:Second Day of Flower Offering. \nThe flower offering to the representation of the Virgin of the 2024 Valencia Fallas is\, as every year\, one of the most striking events of the festival. ‘Ofrena de flors a la Mare de Déu’ is the original name in valencian. During the days of March 17th and 18th\, the different fallas committees make a pilgrimage\, laden with flowers and carts full of flowers to offer them to the Virgin\, who is a large representation of this religious figure set up in the Plaça de la Mare de Déu in valencian\, Plaza de la Virgen in castilian or Virgen Square in english. These flowers adorn the figure until\, on the 19th\, it is fully adorned with flowers. \nBeyond the religious sentiment\, it is an event worth seeing. Once completed\, the scent of flowers fills the Plaza de la Virgen\, and its imposing mantle of flowers leaves no one indifferent. \nMost of the fallas in València make the entire pilgrimage on foot\, but others from more distant locations or other municipalities come by bus to complete the final stretch. There are two final stretches\, depending on the origin of the fallas: San Vicente Mártir Street from Plaza de España to Plaza de la Virgen\, or Paz Street from Parterre to Virgin Square passing through Queen Square.

SUMMARY:Contest of the "Cant de l'Estoreta" 2024
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Cant de L’estoreta Velleta’ competition is deeply embedded in Valencia’s Fallas tradition\, organized by the Falla Plaça de l’Arbre and supported by the Junta Local Fallera. It emerged in 1961 as a homage to the childhood reminiscences of Plaça de l’Arbres falleros\, who recalled gathering old furniture for burning during the Fallas revelries. \nThroughout the contest\, participants don attire reflecting the typical Valencian styles of the 19th and 20th centuries\, rekindling the historic aura of Valencia. The ‘estoreta velleta’\, or old carpet in Valencian\, serves as a focal point\, having been utilized to ferry furniture contributed by locals. The competition’s name stems from this ‘estoreta velleta’\, alluding to the folk song sung by participants while engaging in this task. \nAt the event\, under the auspices of the Fallera Mayor Infantil and her Court of Honor\, contestants perform the traditional song\, thereby perpetuating the essence of historic Valencia and infusing the Fallas festivities with a nostalgic undertone.

SUMMARY:'Ninot' Parade
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Cavalcada del Ninot’\, Ninot Parade\, is a procession where members of fallas commissions dress up and parody current topics\, faithful to the satirical and critical spirit of the fallas\, with a lot of humor. The figures or ‘ninots’\, in general\, will not be placed in the fallas or are those in the Ninot Exhibition\, as it used to be. However\, the parade is concluded by the initial pieces that will be assembled for the Municipal Falla\, located in the Town Hall Square\, which this year is named ‘Two Doves. One Branch. \nThe parade route starts at Plaza Alfonso el Magnánimo\, then continues along Carrer La Pau\, San Vicente Mártir\, Plaça de l’Ajuntament\, and ends on Xàtiva\, in front of the Estación del Norte or North Station. \nIt’s best to arrive a bit early and stay at a point along the route to see the Fallas commissions pass by\, rather than following the parade closely.
